My 5 Favourite Beauty Products

5 Favourite Beauty Products

I’ve really enjoyed all the beauty posts floating around blog-land recently. It’s great to read what routine’s people have and pick up little tid bits of information and tips. I don’t profess to have a routine as such, in fact, I have so few products that I don’t think it counts. Nevertheless, it’s taken me a while to work out what keeps my super sensitive skin looking half decent, so I thought i’d share:

  • Aveeno Skin Relief Body Lotion with Shea Butter: This is the newest addition to my dresser and I’m certain I will buy it over and over again. Made with oats, it’s a delightfully creamy moisturiser, I like to call it face porridge. I won’t say it’s for everyone, but if you have dry, thirsty, sometimes irritable, skin – it’s magic!
  • Lash Doubling Mascara by Clinique: If I only wear one thing to tart my face up in a rush, it’s this. It stays on all day long and doesn’t clump or crumble, Maybelinne mascaras are great for that too.
  • Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Kit: This palette is really versatile, easy to keep simple during the day, or build up at night. The dark shadow is great for defining eyebrows and lining your lids before using liquid/gel eyeliners.
  • Benetint Lip and Cheek Satin: This is such a lovely, rosy apple cheek stain. It has less staying power on the lips but is nice for a quick pop of colour during the day. If i’m just running errands i’ll usually wear this with mascara.
  • Clinique Take the Day Off Balm: So this stuff was a revelation to me. I can’t use normal make-up removers without melting my skin – did I mention it’s sensitive?! ;) This silky soft balm dissolves mascara like a dream and leaves my skin crazy soft and clean. It might seem pricy, but after 6 years, I’m not even half way through my second pot. Totally worth the investment.

For a more fancy occasion I tend to build up my eye make-up with the palette, a bit of eyeliner and stick on a dab of hot pink lippy. Maybe with a dash of concealer and bronzer, if i’m feeling fancy! What are your daily faves, do you have one product you know you’ll buy over and over?

I’m a long-time fan of Maybelinne’s mascaras too. I’ll have to give your recommendation a try!
