I’ve always gift wrapped my smaller jewellery items in dinky 7 x 10 cm brown envelopes, which I found in our local newsagents. They’re perfect, but I thought recently they could do with a bit more colour. That’s when I remembered I had some gorgeous floral paper stashed away in a cupboard; not too many minutes later I got to work and created a template and thought I’d share it this week. Just click the link to to download and start making your own tiny, pretty envelopes.
In addition to the template, printed on card, you’ll need:
Start by cutting out your template, I like to use a scalpel here for precision, but scissors are fine if you don’t have one. Then roughly cut a square big enough from your chosen paper and draw around the template onto the plain side of the paper.
With the scalpel, cut around the solid lines and score through the dashed lines lightly. Dab glue where indicated, fold, and you’re done. You could add to the fun by decorating with washi tape, twine, anything you like. I hope you find these useful, even if you’re not packaging up gifts or product orders, how about sending a tiny letter to your penpal!?
Super cute! I love tiny things!
But… 7×10 inches isn’t that tiny?? It’s kind of standard?? Am I missing something??
Eek, woops – that’s a typo. I meant cm, obviously! :)
I stumbled upon your blog while reading craft tutorials on the internet, and I’m so glad I did! I’ve signed up to receive your posts via email…LOVE your blog and your craftiness! :)
Thanks, Becky! I hope you enjoy what’s to come :)
Howdy! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog.
Is it very difficult to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking
about creating my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Appreciate it
