Hi! I’m Jess, a.k.a Jessica Joy. I live in Bristol in the south west of England and I’m a knitwear designer and author. I create fun, modern knitting patterns and easy-to-follow tutorials to help you make them.
As a self-taught knitter I can relate to the early frustrations of learning online, and the hunt to find techniques and cute patterns. I aim to make the process accessible, fun, and just a little bit prettier!
I learnt to knit in 2009 after feeling an urge to create something useful with my hands; I hoovered up every scrap of information I could find and quickly became addicted to knitting.
From the outset I was fascinated with construction and knowing how pieces were put together. My first book, Knitting Smitten, was published by Quadrille in April 2014 and I’m honoured to have patterns featured in The Makery’s craft book, and the upcoming Mollie Makes knitting book.
In my spare time I like to run, bake, take photos, play trumpet and attempt to learn French. If you have any questions, or just want to say hi, please feel free to pop me a message.
